Admissions Information for Oakleigh House Nursery and School

You are very welcome to visit our school at any time.  Please contact Mrs Vikki Napier, Registrar, who deals with all admissions to arrange a mutually convenient appointment.

In response to your initial enquiry we will send out a prospectus, note your interest on our database and invite you to view the school.  A visit is then arranged for you to meet with the Headteacher and staff.

Should you wish your child to be considered for entry, you are requested to complete and return a registration form together with the £50 (non-refundable) fee.  The registration form is not a contractual document.

Entry requirements vary depending on the age of your child.
In the early years (ages 2 1/2-5) these take the form of educational play and enjoyable activities observed by experienced Early Years staff, enabling us to assess the readiness of children for entry.  Children seeking entrance 5+ will also undertake some literacy and numeracy activities which may include a story and mathematical or language games.
Children entering Years 3-6 are required to accompany their parents for an interview.  They will then be asked to attend a taster day during which an informal assessment will take place.  A copy of their last School report will also be required.

An offer letter is then sent to parents/guardians, offering the child a place at School.  This is accompanied by the acceptance form, requiring a £500 deposit (returnable when the child leaves the school) and a copy of the Terms and Conditions of the Contract.

On return of the acceptance form together with the £500 deposit to the Registrar, a welcome letter is sent to parents.  Your child will then be offered to attend a taster session in the term prior to them starting school.
