Sport at Oakleigh House School in Swansea

Sport plays a prominent part in Oakleigh House School life.  Pupils in Nursery and Foundation Phase enjoy 2 indoor and outdoor Physical Education lessons every week.

We endeavour to introduce our pupils to a range of sporting opportunities.  Pupils from Year 3 to Year 6 are taken to the University of Wales Sports Centre for their lessons where they have coaching in Football, Rugby, Hockey, Tennis, Cricket, Netball and Athletics.

Swimming is an excellent sport for achieving high levels of fitness and all pupils from Year 3 up have the chance to swim in the National Pool of Wales.

Team sports are represented at all levels with pupils competing in home and away matches.

Our aim is that every pupil should enjoy taking part in sport and in so doing build a real sense of team work, while at the same time providing the support and challenge necessary to fulfil individual talents.
