Sport at Oakleigh House School in Swansea

At Oakleigh House we endeavour to introduce our pupils to a range of sporting opportunities.  These include netball, cricket, hockey, football, rugby, athletics and general fitness training.  These are developed further by the many extra-curricular activities that take place during lunch breaks and after school.  New activities include Zumba and Yoga.

Nursery and Foundation Phase pupils use the school grounds which include a playground together with a large grassed area.  Pupils also use a purpose built sports hall with a wide range of gymnasium equipment.

Pupils in Key Stage 2 are taken to Swansea University Sports Centre for their weekly games lesson where they have exclusive use of the indoor track and outdoor multi-purpose pitches.  They also have swimming lessons at the Wales National Pool where the pupils have access to the 25m and 50m lanes.

Team sports are represented at all levels.  The pupils regularly travel to schools across South Wales for away matches and are fortunate to play their home fixtures at the superbly equipped University sports centre.
