Oakleigh House School Years 5, 6 and Beyond

By the time the pupils reach the top of the school they have built a solid foundation on which to build their future.  They use their individual ablitites to the full and work with focus and creativity.  The curriculum we offer prepares pupils for entry in to Senior School.  There are strong links with Ffynone House and every year a high proportion of our pupils are awarded academic, sporting or expressive arts scholarships.  We have also established good links with the local secondary schools.

In Years 5 & 6 pupils are expected to take responsibility for the younger pupils as well as themselves. To this end they are given positions of responsibility which help develop their leadership qualities.

The Expressive Arts have always been an important part of the school curriculum. Pupils in Years 5 & 6 take the lead in choir, orchestra, dance and drama productions, which contributes to building their self-confidence and ability to work as a team. 

We are confident that the foundations laid here will equip all our pupils well for the next stage in their education.
