GOLD : Rights Respecting School
Oakleigh House School is awarded Unicef UK’s
Rights Respecting School Award at Gold
The assessors would like to thank the children, the Senior Leadership Team, and staff for their warm virtual welcome to the school, for the opportunity to speak with adults and children during the assessment and for the detailed evidence provided to support the process.
It was evident that children’s rights are embedded across the school and underpin every facet of school life. Particular strengths of the school include:
- Confident children with a good knowledge of rights, especially pupils in the Rights Committee.
- Pupils feel safe and happy in school
- Rights are embedded across the curriculum beginning in the early years departments and this is built
upon as pupils move through the year groups.
