Paralympic Torch lights up School
Paralympic Torch arrives at Oakleigh House School. The pupils and staff were very excited to be chosen as one of only 100 primary schools in the UK to take part in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Torch Tour. To help us celebrate we were joined by Rhys Jones and Liz Johnson, Paralympic athletes as well as many local sports personalities. The tour presents a unique opportunity to raise awareness of the Paralympic Movement and the Rio Paralympic Games.
The Tour team organised various activities for the pupils in the school hall promoting the Paralympic Values of Determination, Inspiration, Courage and Equality. Liz and Rhys were happy to join in the activities and spent time after the workshop visiting classrooms and talking to pupils and answering questions.
