Netball team reach Welsh Finals
The netball team has gone from strength to strength this year. Each player has concentrated on developing skills for a set position and they are all now playing at a high level.
Over the autumn term, the team played 25 matches, scoring a total of 197 goals, conceding just 9. The team was nominated for Primary School Team of the Year in November because of this success and their excellent team work and good sportsmanship. There are 84 schools in Swansea with over 400 different sports teams so we were delighted that our netball team was shortlisted as a finalist. The players thoroughly enjoyed the awards evening in the Brangwyn Hall in March.
At the Swansea Schools netball tournament in January, a total of 81 schools competed against each other over 3 days. The Oakleigh House team won all 6 of their games, scoring over 60 goals, conceding just 2 despite playing some extremely strong and very competitive teams. The team won overall and is now looking forward to the Welsh finals on Thursday April 26th, when they will be competing against 19 other schools from all over Wales.
Good luck Oakleigh netball team!
