Learning Outside the Classroom

As a school we believe that opportunities for outdoor learning exist within and across all curriculum areas. Outdoor Learning enables children to learn through what they do, what they encounter and what they discover. It helps to develop in the children the learning skills of enquiry, experiment and cooperative learning while also developing their reasoning, risk taking, resilience and perseverance.

We make regular use of the school grounds and Cwmdonkin Park to deliver lessons in all areas of the curriculum including Maths, English, Science, Humanities and Art.

In addition to this, as part of our Learning Outside the Classroom programme, children in all year groups have the  opportunity to attend trips and visits at least once a term to support their learning in an area of the curriculum, encouraging them to engage with their natural and built heritage.
